Manufacturer-documented model guide
Jackery Explorer 1000 v2
May fit: Selected 120 V loads whose running and startup requirements fit the station's ratings.
Consider another setup: Loads requiring 240 V, more than 1,500 W continuous output, or a verified battery expansion option.
Manufacturer research; no hands-on testing. Source records checked on 2026-10-04.
The Explorer 1000 v2 is a 1,070 Wh, 1,500 W portable station for selected 120 V essentials. Its current U.S. support record specifies 400 W maximum solar input, no battery-pack expansion, and UPS switching within 20 ms.

Quick answer
Start with your household’s power needs
Identify each appliance’s running watts, startup demand, voltage and operating time. Compare those needs with documented output and capacity, allowing for conversion losses and changing conditions. Rated capacity does not predict exact runtime.
Check planned loads in the backup-power selectorConfirm the exact Explorer 1000 v2
Jackery's U.S. support record identifies this model as JE-1000D. It lists 1,070 Wh, LiFePO₄ cells, 1,500 W total across three 120 V AC ports, a 3,000 W maximum instantaneous output, 23.8 lb, and a five-year maximum warranty term (three standard years plus an extension of two). Match the model name and included equipment on the listing; do not carry specifications from another Explorer or HomePower model into this decision.
Size for measured household loads
The 1,070 Wh figure is stored battery capacity, not the AC energy every appliance will receive. Check running watts, startup demand, daily energy, reserve, and recharge time. A refrigerator cycles; a heater may draw continuously. Use the battery-runtime calculator with realistic measurements rather than assuming a run time from the product category. The station is listed for 120 V AC output, not 240 V loads.
Plan within the solar and expansion limits
Jackery lists a maximum solar input of 400 W and says the Explorer 1000 v2 does not support battery packs. Solar charging depends on compatible panels and real conditions, so the input ceiling is not a promised charging rate. If your plan needs substantially more stored energy, compare a different station rather than budgeting for an unsupported add-on battery.
Treat the UPS figure as a device-specific limit
The manufacturer says the UPS switches within 20 ms and explicitly says this is not a zero-millisecond UPS. Check the interruption tolerance of the equipment you intend to connect; Jackery's current product page also says portable stations are not recommended for medical, life-support, or other applications where power loss could create serious harm. Do not depend on this unit for critical equipment without the responsible device maker's guidance and a safe test.
Compare the current generation before choosing
Jackery's Explorer product page now points readers to HomePower 1000 v2 as a newer option, while still listing Explorer 1000 v2. That does not establish that the Explorer is discontinued.
