Goal Zero Lighthouse 600

May fit: A household that wants a shared light source and can keep it charged, accessible, and within its stated operating temperature.

Consider another setup: An existing battery lantern or flashlight that already gives the household safe, usable light.

Manufacturer research; no hands-on testing. Source records checked on 2026-10-05.

The Goal Zero Lighthouse 600 (US SKU 32010) is a rechargeable lantern for shared room or table-area light. Goal Zero lists one-side or two-side output, a 5,200 mAh lithium-ion battery, and a low-power USB output. It is a lantern, not a household backup battery or a dependable phone-charging plan.

Quick answer

Decide whether shared light is worth battery maintenance

Consider where the lantern can sit or hang securely, which side/mode is sufficient, and who needs to reach its controls. Lumens do not establish room coverage. Keep flashlights or headlamps for movement and a separate plan for phone power.

Review outage lighting and access fallbacks

Separate shared light from task lighting

Goal Zero identifies the Lighthouse 600 as SKU 32010 and lists up to 600 lumens, with one or both lighting sides available. This makes its decision different from a headlamp: consider where shared light is useful and whether it can sit or hang securely. Lumens alone do not tell you the usable brightness across a particular room, and this guide contains no room-lighting test.

Compare each brightness mode with the time you need

Goal Zero lists an 18.98 Wh lithium-ion battery and manufacturer run times of five hours on high or 320 hours on low with one side lit, and 2.5 hours on high or 180 hours on low with both sides lit. Those mode-specific figures are not a guaranteed outage duration. Choose the brightness and coverage that the task requires, then test how long the household's chosen setting lasts before relying on it.

Plan charging and temperature as maintenance

Goal Zero lists an operating range of 32–104°F, about six hours for USB charging, and advises charging the stored lantern every three months. Its product details give USB output up to 5 V and 1.5 A (7.5 W). That output can be too limited for a household's phone plan, so do not count it as a power bank. Keep a reminder to check the battery, recharge it on schedule, and follow the current manual.

Listed charge time

  • The 7.5 W USB output is limited; the lantern is not a substitute for a dedicated phone power bank or household backup-power system.
  • Maximum-brightness runtime is much shorter than low-mode runtime. State the mode alongside every runtime figure; do not imply a guaranteed overnight result.
  • Goal Zero lists 32–104°F operating temperature and periodic recharge during storage. Keep it within the stated range and include battery checks in household maintenance.

What remains unknown

  • No room-illuminance or household usability test was performed; lumens do not establish how evenly a room is lit.
  • Current exact-model US merchant listing identity, offer terms, and image rights are not part of this record.
  • No exact compatible solar-panel configuration beyond the named Nomad 10 charging-time statement was independently compared here.

Before you buy

Confirm the exact configuration

  • Match Goal Zero Lighthouse 600, US SKU 32010; Lighthouse Core and Micro are separate models.
  • Compare the selected one-side/two-side mode with the required time; high-mode runtime is much shorter than low-mode runtime.
  • Plan a three-month storage charge reminder and keep the unit within the manufacturer's operating temperature.
  • Do not count its 7.5 W maximum USB output as a dedicated phone power plan.
