Streamlight Siege AA Lantern (AA version; not Siege X / D-cell Siege)

Siege AA is a replaceable-cell lantern for shared 360-degree light, using three AA alkaline batteries rather than a built-in rechargeable pack. It offers lower white settings and separate red modes, with manufacturer-listed water and impact ratings.

Is it right for your household?

Where it fits

A household wanting an area lantern that can use stored AA alkaline cells.

When to consider another option

A hands-free walking task, where an individual headlamp is more suitable.

More fit considerations

Other situations to consider

  • A damp-area plan where the maker's IPX7 and float conditions fit the task.

Other reasons to choose a different setup

  • A rechargeable-only plan that avoids disposable cells.

Power it with three AA alkaline cells

Streamlight's Siege AA instructions specify three AA batteries. Cells are sold separately; this model does not contain a rechargeable pack. Keep matching spare cells with the lantern if using it in a household kit, and distinguish it from Streamlight's larger D-cell Siege and Siege X products.

Choose a mode for the task

Streamlight lists white output of 200 lm high for seven hours, 100 lm medium for 15.5 hours, and 50 lm low for 37 hours. Red steady and SOS are both listed at 0.7 lm with separate long-duration figures. The white runtime data is manufacturer supplied; do not present it as independent testing or assume equal room brightness at each setting.

Check color and magnetic-base package

The info sheet lists 249.5 g without the magnetic base and 258 g with it; it says the base is included with the yellow model and optional for coyote. The product page lists colors and models separately. Confirm exact color/part number if magnet mounting matters rather than assuming every package includes the same base.

Use the water rating within its conditions

Streamlight lists IPX7 to one-meter immersion and says the lantern floats with the globe attached. The instructions cover battery replacement and operation. These ratings apply to the specified product condition; inspect closures and use the manual rather than treating water resistance as permanent after damage or wear.
