Tripp Lite by Eaton SMART1500LCD

A stationary 1500 VA / 900 W UPS for selected electronic equipment, with PWM sine-wave battery output; the exact battery-backed outlet split remains undocumented here.

Is it right for your household?

Where it fits

Stationary computer or electronics equipment within the documented 900 W output limit.

When to consider another option

Mobile use, motor/appliance loads, or a setup requiring a verified outlet-group count.

Choose it for a stationary electronics setup

The owner manual says SMART1500LCD is not suitable for mobile applications and is intended for electronic equipment. It lists USB and RS-232 communications and allows an initial 24-hour charge before relying on battery backup. Keep it stationary and follow the full manual's grounding and installation instructions.

Compare watts, not the headline VA

Eaton's current product page lists 1500 VA and 900 W. Check the actual equipment load against 900 W with margin. Manufacturer runtime points are 4.4 minutes at 900 W and 11.8 minutes at 450 W; these are rated estimates, not measured results for a reader's devices.

Do not assume pure sine output

The manual describes PWM sine-wave supply from battery reserves. Preserve that wording; it does not establish a pure-sine claim. The exact transfer time was not verified in the reviewed manual or current product page, so readers needing a tight transfer limit should compare other documented models or ask Eaton.

Battery service is not a casual DIY task

The page names RBC1500, but the manual says there are no user-serviceable parts and battery replacement is for qualified personnel. Confirm the replacement cartridge against the exact model label and current Eaton instructions. The reviewed evidence does not establish the eight outlets' battery-backed versus surge-only split.
