EcoFlow RIVER 3
The base U.S. RIVER 3 (EFR705) is a 245Wh, 300W portable station for selected low-draw devices. It has a base EPS transfer of up to 20ms; do not confuse it with the distinct RIVER 3 (10ms UPS) or 230Wh regional variant.

Is it right for your household?
Small electronics and selected low-watt 120V/DC loads within the specific model's output limits.
Long outages, high draw appliances, 240V loads, or a plan that needs more than 300W rated AC output.
More fit considerations
Other situations to consider
- Short trips or brief interruptions where about 245Wh nominal capacity is enough.
- A compact 3.5kg station that can be charged using a verified compatible source within 110W solar input limits.
Other reasons to choose a different setup
- Servers, workstations, NAS systems, or devices requiring uninterrupted transfer.
- A specific 10ms transfer requirement: verify whether the exact RIVER 3 10ms UPS variant is needed instead.

Check the exact RIVER 3 variant before using its numbers
The base U.S. model EFR705 is listed at 245Wh and 300W AC. EcoFlow's manual also covers a RIVER 3 (10ms UPS) and a RIVER 3 (230) variant. Those names carry different transfer and capacity details. Check the product label and region-specific manual; this page covers only the base U.S. configuration.
Use the 300W ceiling and 245Wh capacity together
Rated AC watts constrain what can run at once; battery Wh constrain how long. The 245Wh nominal capacity is not delivered AC energy after inverter and idle losses. Make a list of device watts and duty cycle, preserve reserve, and check compressor startup demand. EcoFlow's 600W X-Boost claim is a separate feature and does not make the base unit equivalent to a 600W normal-output inverter.
Plan around the base model's input range
For the base model, solar input is up to 110W within 11–30V and 8A. Check panel open-circuit voltage and connector before use; the watt ceiling alone is not enough. Solar output varies with shading, temperature, angle and weather. Do not transfer the higher charging details of RIVER 3 Plus or another family member into this model's plan.
Treat EPS as a short transfer, not a professional UPS
The base RIVER 3 EPS transfer is up to 20ms. EcoFlow's manual says not to use it with desktops, NAS/data servers, workstations, or similar equipment needing uninterrupted power. The RIVER 3 (10ms UPS) is a separate product variant. Confirm exact model and device tolerance; do not infer zero-interruption service from the EPS label.
Keep the unit inside its use conditions
The base RIVER 3 is a small, 3.5kg device, but household use still requires a dry, ventilated location and unobstructed ports. EcoFlow specifies charge and discharge temperature ranges in the manual and provides storage-care instructions. No expansion capacity is listed for the base unit. Keep a suitable backup plan for any load whose interruption could cause harm or data loss.
